1920s Thomson Chrome Appleton Style Driving Lamp Spot light
What a superb lamp and incredidibly scarce too! This 1920s Thomson Chrome Appleton Style Driving Lamp Spot Light was made by The S.H. Thomson Manufacturing Company of Dayton, Ohio, U.S.A. The design was patented on August 23rd 1921.
A lamp that is almost an antique and in good condition. The chrome is slightly scratched and pitted as would be expected with something of this age.
It is beautifully constructed of chromed brass. A ratcheted bakelite knob control allows steering of the light head, as shown in the video. The lamp has not been electrically tested.
These must have been limited production, and expensive too as they are individually serial numbered: with this one being No. 4278.
It would have been mounted on the door of a car but this would also maker a great collectible or used for accent lighting in a man cave (with appropriate modification!).
