Vintage Royal Standard Bone China Trinket Dish 13cm Diameter: Chapman Longton Ltd.
This is a beautifully delicate Vintage Royal Standard Bone China Trinket Dish 13cm Diameter. It is eight-sided, octagonal, with fluted gilded edges and a fluted base. The base is almost as pretty as the face!
The face measures approximately 13cm (5.1″) in diameter and is decorated with lilac, pink, blue and beige flowers, (corn flowers?) with green leaves and stems. The base measures ~8cm (3.2″) in diameter. Hold up to the window and the china is so thin you can see the decoration on the face.
You could use it as a sweet/ candy dish, for trinkets and jewellery or, since it is so beautiful, just for display.
It is in very good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. It probably dates to the 1940s/50s.
The Manufacturer’s back mark is as follows:-
“Royal Standard” was a trademark used on English china made by a potteries company called Chapmans Longton Ltd (1916-1966). This company was among the famous Staffordshire pottery companies, and based at the ‘Albert Work’s, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.
