Vintage 1940s/50s Aldridge Pottery Wall Pocket Vase Bonnet Hat
This is a very cute 1940s/50s Aldridge Pottery Wall Pocket Vase in the shape of a straw bonnet/ hat. It is cream with a mottled brown surface, representing the straw, with a natty pale blue/green ribbon around the crown.
The Earthenware pocket vase was made by Aldridge Pottery Co. Normacot Works, Longton, Staffordshire, England. The original label is still stuck to the back along with the impressed mark “Made in England.”
It is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration work.
Maximum Approximate dimensions:-
Height: – 18.5cm (7.3″)
Width: – 13.5cm (5.3″)
Depth: – 3.6cm (1.4″)
The vase has a hole in the rear to enable you to hang it from a wire/ hook or you could attach it directly to the wall. I have left the previous hanging wire in the bonnet because I was bemused to find it is reused electrical wire!
Flower pocket vases work well on their own or in a group, adding a splash of colour to that gloomy wall. This would look lovely with a small posy of fresh freesias or dried flowers/ corn, in a kitchen or bathroom. Hat collectors would love this!
