1940s Cream Leighton Pottery EPNS Rimmed Square Bowl Planter Pattern 6470
This is an unusual 1940s Cream Leighton Pottery EPNS Rimmed Square Bowl Planter. Pattern 6470. It was made at the Staffordshire Leighton Pottery, Burslem, England: formerly known as Bourne & Leigh.
An art deco piece with beautiful stylised corners, and hand painted with poppies, meadow flowers and trees. A circular opening, at the top of the bowl, is finished with an, 1.5cm high, EPNS (Electroplated Nickel Silver) band. The base has four ceramic feet and is finished with a burnt orange, handpainted, trim.
In good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration: there is some crazing. The EPNS is worn in places.
