Vintage Arthur Wood Leek Staffordshire Wall Pocket Vase
This is an absolutely beautiful small Vintage Arthur Wood Leek Staffordshire Wall Pocket Vase. The vase is cream and hand painted on the front, with two very pretty protruding flowers.
The impressed back mark says ‘Made in England, Leek: one of the Staffordshire potteries. This is quite a rare find in this condition. The manufacturer is Arthur Wood but there is no ‘Wood’ maker’s mark on the pocket vase.
It is in very good used condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is some crazing, and it does have glazing marks and other manufacturing imperfections. Some of the gilding has rubbed off in some areas.
The pocket vase is quite Art Deco in style and probably dates to the 1930s/40s but I cannot confirm that.
This wall pocket would look wonderful in the kitchen filled with herbs or a small trailing plant!
