1950s Carlton Ware Party Serving Dish 4493 Mimosa
A lovely vintage 5-sectioned, triangular shaped, 1950s Carlton Ware Party Serving Dish 4493 Mimosa. Beautifully decorated with yellow mimosa flowers and a brown trim, it stands on three ceramic feet. I’ve not seen this style of serving dish (other than in pictures) for many a year! I think the imprinted design number is 4493 but it is difficult to read.
The back mark is the printed script Carlton ware backstamp used from 1926 onwards, when the company was still known as Wiltshaw & Robinson Ltd (1890-1957).
The plate is high lustre, and in good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There are some blemishes and bubbles in the plate but they have been there since the plate was new. There is a tiny loss of brown paint.
Besides being a nice addition to a Carlton ware collection, the retro serving dish would look great at a party for serving canapés, nibbles and snacks. Really on trend!
- Approximate maximum length: 30.5cm (12″) and 3.5cm in height.
