Vintage Rising Sun Australian Commonwealth Military Forces Embroidered Emblem
This Vintage Rising Sun Australian Commonwealth Military Forces Embroidered Emblem is amazing! It depicts the official insignia of the Australian Army ‘Rising Sun’ Emblem, beautifully embroidered on to a piece of black fabric. We believe this is the ‘Third Pattern’ of the emblem, used 1904 to 1949 and bearing the King’s Tudor Crown.
The embroidery of the emblem is not quite complete but this would look wonderful framed or sewn into a pillow case or cushion. The colours are still vibrant and the condition is excellent for a piece over 70 years old! A very nice addition to collectors of militaria.
The cloth was owned by a WW2 veteran, whom served in the Far East. Sadly, he has now passed away so we are unable to find out more about the history of this piece. You could only guess that he acquired this when out on active service and brought it back to the UK as a souvenir.
