1940s Air Ministry Spitfire Aircraft Cockpit Lamp 5C/909
This 1940s Air Ministry Spitfire Aircraft Cockpit Lamp 5C/909 has never been used. In good condition with some surface mottling, scuffs and scratches.
These lamps were used in WW2 as Morse Identity lights to ensure that the pilots could communicate with other aircraft without breaking radio silence. They were located on top of the fuselage behind the cockpit and used to flash morse code.
Labelled AM, with a crown, and with the RAF store code 5C/909.
We have two of these lamps available with a clear lens. The price quoted is for one lamp.
A fantastic piece of WW2 memorabilia from that most iconic of “Battle For Britain” Airplanes, the Spitfire!
