Vintage Original Somerville Saab 9000 Turbo 16 Dealer’s model
We have for sale, a rare, Vintage Original Somerville Saab 9000 Turbo 16 Dealer’s model, with Marble Plinth. The model was produced in a limited edition of only 122, and was only available to Saab Dealers.
The markings on the bottom of the car say SAAB 9000 turbo 16, Somerville, 1984. Made in England.
The detailing on the model is exquisite. Its is heavy and very good quality. The car is black with a tan interior. The registration is LYA 623.
For those of us who don’t know what a Saab 9000 Turbo 16 looks like, (including me!), I’ve inserted this image…
The car fixes, via velcro, to a heavy cream/beige coloured marble plinth. The bottom of the plinth has four felt ‘feet’ to stop it scratching those lovely wooden or glass polished desks! This would make a great addition to any Sommerville collection or as a desk ornament for a Saab enthusiast.

Some information from the Somerville Models website
Somerville has been making models for over 30 years, the company was started by Doug & Roly McHard and the models soon gained a reputation for the finest available, certainly in the area of British & Swedish cars. After the death of Doug McHard his wife sold the business and all the copyright & trademarks to Promod Ltd who own it to this day.
Models from the range are being produced in kits at the moment, but 2013 will see the relaunch of professionally built range of the models that originally took the model collectors by storm and won the hearts of many collectors. The range is limited to just 100 of each model with a numbered certificates. All models are still cast and built in England, and not mass produced in China so therefore still remain as exclusive and collectable as the originals.
