Vintage Scottie Dog Pressed Glass Car Mascot

This very cute object is purported to be a Vintage Scottie Dog Pressed Glass Car Mascot. Dating to about the 1940s, the figurine depicts a loveable begging Scottie Dog. Whether or not it was actually used as a car mascot is up for debate. 

In fair condition, with some manufacturing defects including air holes, but is, unfortunately, chipped in several places including the base near the feet and the tip of the left ear.
I’ve not managed to trace the manufacturer and there doesn’t appear to be a maker’s mark unless it is embossed in the dog's collar. The ornament is hollow and the interior can be accessed via a hole on the base.

A must-have item for a dog lover, especially Scottie Dogs! It makes a very cute figurine or, you could possibly mount a {very} small light bulb inside it and use as a desk ornament.
