Vintage Murphy Radio Metal Letterpress Hoover Washing Machine Printing Plates

This is a Set of 2 Vintage Murphy Radio Metal Letterpress Hoover Washing Machine Printing Plates which come in the original envelope from Murphy radio Limited, Radio and Electrical Manufacturers, Broadwater Road, Welwyn Garden City, Herts. UK

A little slice of history, dating to the 1950s/60s, these letterhead printing plates were sent to retailers and dealers by Murphy Radio to create their own marketing material. They refer to them as 'Illustration blocks' and were produced for different layouts. 

This particular set was produced for Hoover branded washing machines: Hoovermatic (a twin tub washing machine) and Hooverkeymatic (a 'semi-automated' washing machine requiring a programmed key card to operate).

In this case, the purchaser was:-

Messrs. Shepperson Bros, Market Place, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

In good condition with surface scuffs and blemishes commensurate with age and use.
