It has been rewired with grey wire, electrically tested, and is working beautifully.  This lightweight lamp has a very retro feel, and it blends well with the metal lampshade and metal tripod style clamp stand. It was probably a photographic safelight lamp and possibly a version of an Ilford Selo light.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn pretty good condition, the metal does have some rust, pitting, scuffs and surface scratches commensurate with age and use. I haven't been tempted to polish it as some people prefer to see the original patina.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe design of this lamp was pretty innovative. Based on a tripod type stand, which actually folds flat. There is a hook at the back which allows the light to hang from the wall or ceiling.
