Extremely well engineered, it works directly from the mains, using the built in lead, or requires a 90volt HT and a 1.5volt LT Batteries (Cells): which are not included.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(255, 42, 0);\"\u003eAlthough this beautiful radio is working, it is supplied as a collectable, for display only, as the radio no longer meets current IEE regulations as it carries no PAT test classification, only has a two conductor mains lead and easy access to the rear compartment without cutout interlock where high voltage supplies are present.   Consequently, the mains plug has been removed and a FAILED Portable Appliance Test (PAT) sticker applied.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"\u003eThe R66 is a 4 valve 2 waveband radio covering the medium and long wavebands from an internal ferrite rod aerial and featuring slow motion tuning. It was introduced in April 1956 at £13. 19s. 9d. (around £400 at today’s prices!)\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs this is a 70-year old radio it may have some age related defects but, in general, it looks stunning and will be a great addition to any radio collection.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIt has recently been fully checked,  cleaned and polished. It is complete and original, and in pretty good cosmetic condition for its age.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eTwo Wave Bands:  The radio is working on both MW and LW \u003cstrong\u003eNB:\u003c\/strong\u003e the radio does not have FM\/VHF\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOriginal green rexine leather cloth covered wood cabinet is intact and in pretty good condition: it does have slight surface scuffs \/ blemishes.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eCream bakelite knobs are in good condition and the display is still bright and colourful, albeit with some surface marks.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIt has a very good green leather carry handle and a rotating turntable disc on the base.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eGreen enamel Roberts badge is bright and in good condition.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eApproximate Dimensions excluding handle(WHD): 26 x 18 x 12.5 cm \/ 10.2 x 7.1 x 4.9 inch\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWork from the mains using the in built lead (AC only) or requires a 1.5volt LT and a 90 volt HT Batteries\/ cells. \u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(255, 42, 0);\"\u003eThe batteries are not included as they have not been manufactured for many years.
