The design centres around a biconvex lens with a black moulded plastic 'hood,' and fitted with an elastic head band to position the loupe over the ophthalmologist's eyes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn good cosmetic condition with a few scuffs and surface blemishes. There is no maker's mark and it is supplied as is, without a box or instructions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eApproximate Size WHD:\u003c\/strong\u003e 13 (max) x 6 x 12 cm\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLoupes or magnifiers, in conjunction with a light source, have been used for many years by ophthalmologists for eye examinations but, in the late Victorian era, Dr E Berger was looking for something more 'hands free,'  Patented in 1900, Berger commissioned Koch, Switzerland to make a 2-lens binocular loupe.
