It dates to the late Victorian period when pressed \/ cast glass was used as cheaper alternative to crystal. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMaximum Approximate Dimensions:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eBase Diameter – 12.8 cm (5\")\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eTop Diameter: 21.4cm\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eHeight ~ 11.3cm\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eThe glass is extremely thick, 0.8cm, and pretty heavy, hence the high postage price! \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eIt is in good condition with no cracks or restoration. There are a few glass nibbles on the rim of the base, and scratches and blemishes, including air bubbles, particularly inside the bowl. These don’t show up very well on the photographs, which have been taken with and without flash. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSporting a 10-Point Star Motif in the centre of the bowl, it has scalloped edges with a deeply etched leaf pattern. I’m not sure of the manufacturer, as there is no back mark, but is likely to be European in origin. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt belonged to my Great Aunt, whom passed away in the 1990s aged 88. She always used it as a fruit bowl which sat on her sideboard having been given to her mother as a wedding present.
