Ltd of \u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eConnaught House, 63 Aldwych, London WC2. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe company changed its name to Standard Telephones and Cables Ltd in 1925, hence these headphones were made pre-1925!\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"center\" style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003eThe headphones are in fairly good cosmetic condition with surface scuffs and blemishes commensurate with age and use.  Comprising black bakelite moulded ear pieces, with an aluminium double headband, and twisted flexible leads terminating in original 2mm crystal set pins. The leather is missing from the headband.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe lead is frayed in parts, which has resulted in no continuity in the lead pins, but an impedance of approximately 2000Ω has been measured from each ear piece. Hence, the headphones should work if the lead is replaced.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe ear pieces are marked with two, now illegible, labels:-\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"center\" style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003eThe smaller one is the BBC label (type approved by the Post Master General), and the second would have read:-\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003eMade in England\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003e2000 Ohms\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"center\" style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eWestern Electric Co.
