Made by W Ottway \u0026amp; Co, Ealing, UK, a noted high quality manufacturer of optical instruments.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eComposed of, predominantly, Brass and very heavy! This type of gunsight was often used on the gun turrets of British Royal Navy ships, including “Dreadnought.”\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eApproximate Dimensions:\u003c\/strong\u003e–\u003cbr\u003eLength: 60cm\u003cbr\u003eDiameter: 6.4cm (~2.5″)\u003cbr\u003eTripod height to barrel of scope: 20.5cm\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe telescope sits on a small tripod, probably homemade post WW1, with ball joint fitting allowing the telescope to swivel at different angles. The tripod is slightly unsteady with a rubber foot missing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe telescope would make a wonderful display item and a real tangible piece of maritime military history. I haven’t polished it as some people prefer to see the original patina.
