Wedgwood Blue Jasperware Fruit Bowl

I love Jasper ware and this is a nice example of a Wedgwood Blue Jasperware Fruit Bowl, with white Greek-themed figures in Bas-relief.

Wedgwood, Made In England, is impressed on the back of the bowl along with 04 and RP. This suggests the bowl was made in 2004.

In very good condition, with no restoration work, cracks or chips, it does have a few minor surface blemishes.

    Some Trivia For You!

Jasperware is the most famous of Josiah Wedgwood’s inventions. It first appeared in 1774 after he had conducted thousands of experiments.

An unglazed vitreous fine stoneware made in blue, green, lilac, yellow, black or white; one piece could combine three or more of these colours. According to Wedgwood’s own website, the classical and contemporary reliefs are still made today from moulds reproduced from the originals.
