Table Clamp Mounted Wine Bottle Corkscrew

This is a vintage Table Clamp Mounted Wine Bottle Corkscrew based on the design of the 'Don' clamp-mounted bar corkscrew patented in 1903 by the British inventor, Cornelius Chambers: of the famed Gaskell and Chambers. A design that is still going strong today. This particular version dates to the 1990s.

Approximate Size:

Height (excluding handle): 32cm

It's a beautiful corkscrew bottle opener in chrome plate which clamps to tables, bars and counter tops. I use to have it as a piece of home decor clamped to my wood kitchen work surface. It was rarely used but much admired as a piece of industrial art! It's too heavy and sturdy to risk clamping it to my current granite worktops and has been residing in the drinks cabinet for over 10 years!

It makes opening cork wine bottles an absolute cinch as long as the opener is clamped to a solid and stable surface e.g. metal or hard wood. Don't risk clamping it to any stone, mineral or soft surface, it will probably result in serious damage! These types of wine opener take up a lot of work surface and are mainly used in bars and restaurants.

The wine bottle is inserted into the clear perspex with the polished wood handle in the upright position. You then pull down the wooden handle. Release the handle and the bottle will be uncorked.
