Pair of Sonalgin, May and Baker, 1950s Empty Pharmacist/Druggist Tins. The lithographed tins are in fair vintage condition, and made from metal. There is some paint loss and rust on both tins.
Sonalgin was a compound drug comprising Butophen with Codeine. It was made by May & Baker of Dagenham, UK. The brand name is no longer in use and is not to be confused with Somalgin, which is a NSAID based on Salicylates.
The smaller tin would have held 100 tablets: Height 9.3cm diameter: 4.4cm
The larger tin would have held 500 tablets: Height 12.2cm diameter: 7.5cm
The tins are empty. They are for display and pharmacy antique collectors only.
