This is a wonderfully made 1930s Bakelite In Line Thermostat With Fahrenheit Scale 86B 924LB.

Approximate Size: 

• Base Width: 10.7cm
• Height (including knob): 9.5cm

A beautiful rectangular shape in bakelite, with a brass Fahrenheit scale reading from 45 to 75 ºF, and a large knurled bakelite turning knob. In good cosmetic condition, the brass scale has discoloured and the bakelite has a fews scuffs and blemishes commensurate with age and use.

This is a well made piece of electrical history with the inside mechanism demonstrating the high quality of the engineering.

It would make a great collectible for those whom love vintage electrical gear and vintage home decor. You could even use it as a paperweight!

We are selling it for display only as its 90 years old and won't meet modern Health and Safety electrical standards.

Made In Great Britain but the manufacturer is unknown. During WW2 they were made for the RAF with the Air Ministry Stores Ref No 5A/2889.
