This gorgeous, non-working, brass miniature is a 1920s Swiss travel clock with visible "heartbeat" escapement and fleur de lys accent. The pendulum movement was patented (brevet 93017) in the 1920s by the Swiss Clock Maker, Theodore Jequier.
The clock is in fair cosmetic condition, considering it's almost 100 years old, but isn't working. The movement, clock face and outer guilloche enamel edges are all in need of some remedial work. There is also a button missing from the rear of the clock that sets the time. The clock winds but doesn't tick and it doesn't have the travel case.
I have loved this little clock as a display item on my desk for many years, always with the intention of having it cleaned and restored to at least working condition but never having quite got around to doing it......
In good condition, with the original cathedral leather travel case which you can very occasionally find for sale on antique sites with the dial name of the retailer, these clocks are worth in excess of £250. We are offering this one for considerably less...
The clock is marked on the base "Brevet, 93017 Metaldore Th. Jequier Swiss." Metaldore = metal alloy.
