1960s T45 NATO Army Noise Cancelling Carbon Lip Microphone 

Invented by Electro-Voice and used by the Tank and Marine Regiments since WW2, this is a, new old stock, 1960s T45 NATO Army Noise Cancelling Carbon Lip Microphone.

The unused microphone comes with its original brown 'NATO issue' envelope, which has not been opened. The images shown are of a lip microphone which we have recently sold.

Made by Contelco USA, the T45 microphone mounts over the user's upper lip and is held in place by soft vinyl straps which wrap around the ears: see image below.

The T-45 microphone, in conjunction with the HS-30 headset and SW-141 PTT switch which are not included, was used with most war time American radios such as the BC-1000, BC-1306 (Angry9), GRC-9.

Much loved by military personnel especially crews in noisy areas such as tanks and amphibious landing craft as it responded to the user's voice whilst effectively cancelling out background battle noise. The design continued to be made for several decades after WW2 including NASA's Mercury, Gemini, and Skylab programs!

A fantastic collectible artefact for all collectors of Militaria and amateur radio enthusiasts.
