1960s Pigeon Minicom Transitor Intercom

This interesting looking gadget is a 1960s Pigeon Minicom Transitor Intercom. Made in Japan, it's a rare survivor!

Originally designed, and advertised, for use in the factory, office, nursery, and around the home, as long as the person you need to talk to is no further away than the extension wire extends: these were not wireless devices in the 1960s!

It comprises the original box with instructions printed inside the lid, two white plastic intercom units, one Master and one Sub, with gold covered speaker/receiver foil, and an original extension wire.

The box is worn and stained. The intercoms are in fairly good cosmetic condition but have not been tested and sold as a collectible only: assumed non-working. A nice little project for the amateur radio enthusiast!

The master requires a 9 volt battery, which is not included due to the difficulty in shipping anything containing batteries.

The box is labelled:-
Pigeon mini com
Ideal For Office, Home, Nursery, Factory

Approximate Size:

  • Intercom: WHD 10cm x 3.2cm x 7cm (including button)
  • Box Dimensions:
    • Height: 3.5cm
    • Length: 16cm
    • Width: 15cm
