Antique Windsor Round Bifocal Glasses In Their Original Case
This is a wonderful pair of Antique Windsor Round Bifocal Glasses In Their Original Case. The spectacles are Gold filled and there is a hallmark on the nose rim. Each lens is surrounded by a gold filled frame and covered in a tortoise shell style rim. There is some of the tortoise-shell covering missing on one of the lenses.
The bifocal lenses are in good condition with superficial scuffs and surface scratches. The case is worn commensurate with age and use. The spectacles were made by D Miller Ltd, Manufacturing Opticians, 133 Trongate, Glasgow. Trongate is the oldest street in Glasgow.
Normally, these type of spectacles retail for over £50, we are selling his pair for significantly less due to the damage.
They have a great ‘Steampunk/ Industrial’ look and are quite lightweight. They measure ~ 11.5cm (4.5″) in frame width.
