Some Trivia For You

Bing & Grondahl (B&G) porcelain was founded in 1853 by Frederik Vilhelm Grøndahl and brothers Meyer. H. Bing and Jacob.H. Bing.
The distinctive blue colouration and glazing is obtained using cobalt blue paint on unfired porcelain. The porcelain is then fired, glazed and fired again: known as ‘underglaze firing.’
The three towers in the back mark comes from the Coat of Arms of Copenhagen.
In 1987 B&G merged with the Royal Porcelain Factory to form ‘Royal Copenhagen’.
