1950s Kodak Advertising Sign Lamp. Novel Industrial Design Retro Lighting

1950s Kodak Advertising Sign Lamp. Novel Industrial Design Retro Lighting would add a real 'wow' factor to your home.

A large statement light which would have been hung from the ceiling in a shop or left to glow on a counter. It would make great accent lighting for those of us that love quirky lamps! Just check that your ceiling is capable of holding the weight! Apologies, but this lamp can only be shipped within Mainland UK.

It hung in a Kent photographic specialist shop for many years. I bet there are not many lamps like this around, and in such good condition!

A four-sided trapezium shape, it is made from metal which has been carefully cleaned without removing the patina of age. The front contains a glass panel etched with the Kodak name and logo in their trademark colours of red, yellow and black. It sports a matching braided black/red/yellow flex.

Approximate Dimensions:-

  • Width: 79cm (2ft 7")
  • Height: 28.5cm
  • Depth: 21.5cm

Remedial work undertaken:

  • Rewired with complementary red/black/yellow flex: secured with a stainless steel bulkhead gland fitting and installation of an Earth.
  • Internal bakelite bulb holders replaced with quality solid brass fitments
  • Fitted with two, low energy, 9.5 watt Sylvania CFL bulbs (40W Tungsten filament equivalent)
  • New CE marked black plug top fitted along with a 3A fuse.
  • Portable Appliance Testing undertaken (PAT): The lamp has been electrically tested using a flagship Seaward Europa Plus PAT tester, and passed the UK Portable Appliance Inspection.

The images have been taken indoors and outdoors, with and without flash, hence the difference in colours between the images.
