1930s Susie Cooper Kestrel Shape Ceramic Milk Jug 2176 With Sea Green Sgraffito Effect

This is an unusual  Art Deco 1930s Susie Cooper Kestrel Shape Ceramic Milk Jug 2176 With Sea Green Sgraffito Effect inside the jug rim.

The outside of the jug is only decorated with three concentric rings of sea green leaving the remainder plain. However, the inside of the jug is beautifully decorated with the circles extending from base to rim with the aforementioned sgraffito effect.

• Base Diameter:- 6.2cm (2.5")
• Width (Handle to Spout) :- 12.5cm

It is in very good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. There are manufacturing defects that have been present since the jug was first made, including a few barley noticeable black spots and air bubbles.

The back mark has a printed Susie Cooper Signature, used post 1931, when she was based at the Crown Works, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, which she shared with HJ Wood & Sons.
