A lovely 1930s Royal Doulton Dickens Ware Old Peggoty 6 Inch Dessert Bowl. Pattern Number D2973.
The fluted dish is beautifully printed with a street scene including the character ‘Old Peggoty' from Charles Dickens' David Copperfield.
In fair condition with vibrant colours and no chips or restoration. The bowl does have some manufacturing defects including bubbles and black marks in the glaze. It is also crazed and discoloured, which is only noticeable on the rear. There is also a small hairline crack which, again, is only noticeable on the rear.
The base is marked with the special Dickens Ware stamp, the pattern number D2973, and the character name, Old Peggoty.
