Described as a picture in sound, this is a 1963 Centenary 7" Vinyl Record Of The Festiniog Railway By Bill Hartley With Postcards. A must-have for train lovers and postcard collectors alike!

The 33 1/3 rpm record was produced for the Festiniog Railway Co. by Bill Hartley (Productions) Limited of 1266 Warwick Road, Knowle, Solihull, Warwickshire.

The record is in fairly good condition, with some scuffing/wear to the sleeve, but I haven't played it to check for quality. 

The four accompanying J. Arthur Dixon photogravure postcards are in very good condition with slight yellowing.

THE FESTINIOG RAILWAY

The famous Festiniog narrow-gauge railway runs from Portmadoc on the Welsh coast and terminates at Blaenau Festiniog. Dating from 1832, the railway originally was gravity fed and carried slate from the quarries at Blaenau Festiniog. It was converted to steam in 1863: the centenary anniversary commemorated by the release of this record. The line was opened for passenger traffic in 1865 before closing in 1946. The line was reopened in sections commencing in 1954 with the formation of the Festiniog Railway Society Ltd.
