1950s Yellow 1227 Anglepoise Herbert Terry Desk Lamp

This is a gorgeous 1950s Yellow 1227 Anglepoise Herbert Terry Desk Lamp. For over 70 years, Anglepoise® has created table lamps and table lights that are now British design classics. This particular example is a two-tier 1227, dating to the 1950s, and has a steel base, aluminium arms and spacers, and a bakelite Crabtree bulb holder.

This beautiful yellow Herbert Terry lamp has the original flex, bulb holder, and paintwork. It has been fitted with a 'vintage style' modern plug and low energy light bulb to ensure that it is electrically safe and energy efficient. It has also been successfully electrically tested (PAT).

Dimensions: approximately: H:43-96cm W:31-46cm D:15cm

Manufacturer: Anglepoise®

Country of origin: Made in England by Herbert Terry & Sons Ltd, Redditch

Condition: In pretty good original condition, with surface scratches/blemishes, and some loss of paint commensurate with age and use.

It would suit all sorts of rooms in the home, in addition to the office and workshop.

The quintessentially British three-spring 1227 design was invented in 1935 by the renowned engineer, George Carwardine, and the model is still going strong today!
