Description

1986 The Beatrix Potter Collection Boxed Set 1-12 Frederick Warne. Original and Authorised Editions.

If you like Beatrix Potter then you will love this 1986 The Beatrix Potter Collection Boxed Set 1-12 Frederick Warne.

I bought this set from almost new, as a student(!), from a friend of mine. It was an unwanted christening present for her first child. My friend didn’t like Beatrix Potter books….but I do, and I hoped that the children, that I might have had one day, would too!

It has had pride of place in my bookcase, wherever I have lived, for the past twenty years.

The box and the books have slightly yellowed with age and exposure to sunlight. The illustrations on the box have faded and it is scuffed/ creased with small tears in the corners. The box has a short yellow cord for carrying the box.

The twelve books are in good condition, except for slight creasing on the spines. The cover of one has some staining as detailed below. Each book is beautifully illustrated with colour images.

The price on the back of each book is $3.95, and authorised is written as ‘authorized’, so this was possibly destined for the U.S.

With reluctance, I have decided that this set should now go to a new home. It would suit a collector or would look great on a shelf on a child’s nursery ready for bedtime stories, where more memories can be created.

The box measures approximately:

  • 15cm (6″) width
  • 11.5cm (4.5″) depth
  • 11.5cm (4.5″) height
