Vintage Royal Worcester Evesham Gold Storage Jar/ Marmite Pot/ Bean Pot
This is a lovely example of a Vintage Royal Worcester Evesham Gold Storage Jar/ Marmite Pot/ Bean Pot.
This particular piece was ‘Made in England’ and dates to the 1970s. A marmite (pronounced Mar-Meet not Mar-Myte as in that horrible ‘love it, hate it’ yeast spread) is a type of French cooking pot used for slow cooking/braising, soups and stews.
The Evesham range features assorted fruit and corn cob still-life designs that look virtually lifelike. These designs are beautifully contrasted against a white background and striking gold trim! The Evesham range was originally designed by Prof. Robert Baker, R V Ruyckevelt & the Worcester design team in 1962.
We have several pieces in stock, which all belonged to my Mum-in-law.
The pot is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is some slight loss to the gilding in parts.
